Operation AUSTRANS primarily focuses on road safety within the heavy vehicle road transport sector. In recent years, ANZPAA has facilitated Operation AUSTRANS. This role has now ceased.
Road safety within the heavy vehicle sector remains critically important and police jurisdictions and relevant road, transport and safety agencies will continue to undertake activities to address road safety with respect to heavy vehicles.
All media enquiries regarding future heavy vehicle operations should be directed to the relevant police media unit.
The statistics provided below are those captured during Operation AUSTRANS 2015.
