On the 4th of December 2024, Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare (a private health insurer) was gunned down in New York on his way to an investor’s meeting. Following a five-day manhunt, police arrested 26-year-old Luigi Mangione in Pennsylvania on suspicion of the murder.
