ANZPAA welcomes Carl McLennan as New Director We are pleased announce the appointment of Carl McLennan as the new Director of the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA). Carl brings a wealth of experience and deep understanding of the policing landscape, having held senior leadership roles across New Zealand Police and the Pacific region. Carl was recently the New Zealand Police Acting Assistant Commissioner: Iwi and Community. Prior to this, he spent four years as the New Zealand Senior Liaison Officer to Australia, enhancing the strong relationship and co-operation between Australian and New Zealand police. Carl’s distinguished career includes his role as the Executive Director of the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Secretariat. A proud officer of Pacific Island descent, Carl’s passion for his heritage has been a driving force throughout his career. Carl’s extensive expertise includes senior roles in counter-terrorism and trans-national organised crime and a wealth of policing experience in general police duties, criminal investigation, road traffic policing, intelligence and leadership roles. With his international experience and strategic vision, he is well-positioned to provide relevant and forward-thinking advice that aligns with the ANZPAA strategic plan. As the ANZPAA Director, Carl will lead the effective delivery of cross-jurisdictional policy development, advice and insights to help achieve excellence in Australia and New Zealand Policing.
