ANZPAA NIFS presents the John Harber Phillips Award biennially to an individual making an exceptional and long-lasting contribution to the advancement of the forensic sciences.

The Award honours the late Honourable Professor John Harber Phillips AC QC, who had a distinguished career in law and whose unstinting interest in the forensic sciences shaped fruitful and lasting collaborations. The Award aims to promote and inspire others to advance the forensic sciences through leadership and innovative thinking. A committee comprising esteemed representatives of the forensic sciences, police and legal communities judge the Award.

Forensic science, forensic medicine, police and legal community peers can nominate a colleague for the Award. More information will be available here when nominations for the 2024 award open.
