The key objective of this project was to identify communication patterns between medicine, science, law enforcement and law currently applied across jurisdictions in the context of homicide and sexual assault investigations.
Interfaces Project Phase 1 was conducted between 2011 and 2012 with a final report presented to the NIFS Forum and ANZPAA's Board in 2013.
The aim of Phase 2 is to develop a number of flowcharts on a range of disciplines and agencies involved in the complete process of child and adult sexual assault within Western Australia. This includes a ‘storyboard’ for online awareness training for the agencies involved. The products developed for Western Australia can then be adjusted other jurisdictions' specifications. Data collection, through interviews and focus groups, is expected to begin in August 2015, with a final report available by April 2016.
